About Paula
Paula was born, raised, and educated in Ontario, where she received
a Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson University. She works from
a Holistic perspective and believes in the integration of Mind, Body, and
Spirit. Her years of experience and her own personal growth, allows
her to create an understanding and safe environment during counselling
and workshops
She is a well known and respected counsellor in the Lesbian and Gay
Community and has been counselling individuals, couples and families for
20 years. During her career for the City of Toronto, she was instrumental
in affecting changes on lesbian and gay issues within city government.
Paula is the founder of the Rainbow Enterprise Youth Self-Employment
Training Program that assists young lesbians and gays to set up their own
businesses.
As a speaker, Paula presents inspiring, insightful and educational
workshops to the Lesbian and Gay Community and community agencies.
Topics include: "Living your Truth", "Grief and Loss", "Recovering from Addictions", and "Making Peace With My Sexuality", where she tells her own story of growth.
Paula believes in being an active participant in the community
where she lives. She has started a lesbian discussion and social group, a youth group and a social group
called SOGALA, and a non-profit organisation: Indigo Spirit of Awareness Society
Paula has been featured in the following media for her work
in the Lesbian and Gay Community: The Toronto Star, Xtra Magazine,
CIUT radio, CBC Radio, Penticton’s Western Newspaper and the Kelowna Daily
Courier, CHBC TV and Global Vancouver.
Paula is currently counselling and coaching individuals, couples, businesses
and agencies throughout the Okanagan Valley. She resides in the beautiful
city of Victoria BC.
